Hello! Long time no see (haven't written a journal in five years...).
Anyway, just passing by to reminisce but mostly to regret dA's imminent switch-over to Eclipse, as many people do. 
This year will be 15 years since I'm on this site, which is already a feat on itself. I've seen dA change many times, and people complained every time but in the end was okay, because the core of the site remained almost intact, and most of the new features were warmly welcomed in the long run.
But now? I'm not sure. It's not that I'm against changes, but the way Eclipse is now, it feels everything but functional. It looks unfinished and clunky, hard to navigate and like the layout is constantly slapping you in the face with the huge text and images and also infinitely scrolling through a mess of art too big to fit my screen. I wouldn't have minded a cosmetic change, but redoing the way everything works and not listening to the users who, you know, use the site? It doesn't feel right.

dA is my home, it has been for many years, I knew people here back then who I now call my friends. My art here tells the story of my life and I value it a lot. I'm too attached to abandon it, so I won't, but seeing a change so big coming I felt the need to say something. I know the old times will never come back again, but this change now feels a like they are stripping a bit of my skin memories in the process...

I will miss this dA a lot. A whole lot.




In unrelated news, I'm back to 2005 and watching FMA for the first time. No, really! It feels very nostalgic, because when I joined here it was FMA fanart everywhere, but only now I'm watching it.
It's great so far! I finished the 2003 anime and movie, and I'll be starting with Brotherhood soon. I absolutely love the Elric brothers, but who doesn't? All the characters are pretty good, actually. I'm so excited to watch more!!

Whenever I feel like I'm about to collapse from either feelings overload or stress (or both, like now), I know it's a good time to write a dA journal.
Coincidentally it's always around Christmas time.. busiest month of the year.

Anyway! I don't have much to say except that ULTIMO ended two months ago and I'm sad, to say the least... but also volume 11 came out in English, which got me excited again because it's my favorite volume and contains my absolute favorite chapter (and possibly the best piece of media I've ever read, for many sentimental reasons). So I've been gushing over that while preparing my finals. Not a good mix, I tell you...

Also been watching Osomatsu-san. It's so good, I didn't expect crying or just being emotional in general watching a gag anime... It's both engaging and fun to watch. Those brothers are a bunch of lovely dorks!

Huh? Christmas wishlist? I wish for more Rune, all year, every year.
Also caramel-coated peanuts.

And... I guess this concludes my weeb journal of the year. Mostly because I'm falling asleep and my brain is roasted. Because I'm so busy I haven't been drawing much, so I'm looking forward to being... well.. less busy.

I'm like a week late but I realized I've been on this site for ten long years... unbelievable! I still remember the day I registered like it was yesterday, no joke. It has been a wild ride, but that's how life is, after all!

I'm super grateful to all the people that supported me and my art during all this time. Old, new and casual watchers, thank you very much!!! I'll keep working hard improving myself and my art, so stay tuned!!
but... for now I'm going to bed because it's late and I'm tired...
